The Fluminese area

FluminimaggioreThe Flumini area (Fluminimaggiore and Buggerru) Buggerru offers its visitors a myriad of attractions that merge together among the sea and mountains extending over an area of 10,821 hectars.

This is one of the oldest corners of Sardinia, with a range of different sceneries, a realm of outstanding beauty:

- an untouched and wild coast made up of a 2-km-long beach of golden sand; limestone cliffs high up above the sea; coves with characteristic black shale pebbles, where the clear water of the sea creates reflections of unusual colours; and the granite along the Costa Verde where the winds have carved the rocks into fantastic shapes that can be interpreted according to one’s own imagination;

- a rural landscape with fields of citrus groves and olive groves, vineyards, and vast inaccessible pastureland, which are home to sheep and goats, sometimes disturbed by cows, pigs and horses, left free to roam;Trilobite
Punta Manna Pubusinu- the mountains reaching a height of 1,082m a.s.l. with Punta Nestru on Mount Linas.

TBuggerru Nido dell'aquilahere is plenty more, however: old mines, archaeology; speleology with the renowned Grotta di Su Mannau, rare, indigenous plant varieties; rare fossils of animals that lived in these areas more than 300 millions years before even the most famous dinosaurs appeared on Earth; dozens of limestone rock-faces suitable for free climbing; a number of paths for trekking on foot or horseback and mountain-biking. These are just a few of the activities that can be done here in this stunningly beautiful environment.
Tempio AntasJust a few kms away: the famous rock formation known as Pan di Zucchero in Masua, the long, wild beach of Scivu and the highest dunes in Europe at Piscinas.
